Is it possible to copy project structure?

HI guys,

I have a classic project and I wish to copy the structure to another testing project so I can test my new workflow and automation ideas.

I need to clone (workflows, automation rules, issue types, conditions and validations, custom fields and screens and also the field's configurations and schemes).

It'll be nice to clone the issues also but not necessary

Is there a way to clone the project structure without a plugin or must I use one?

If the only option is using a plugin, which do you recommend?

Let me see that I understood:

So I need to copy the workflow and field configuration and associate them with my test project.

Than to manually create the automation rules and scriprunner listeners (no way to copy) so the test project follow the same workflows and automation.

Only then I can modify whatever I wish, test it and once works, to add that to the production project.

Do you (or anyone else reading this) knows if there is a plugin that does that with a press of a button?

P.s - As you mentioned, I do not wont the two project to relay on the same workflow as I am going to modify it and if it does not work it will block my colleagues from working with jira until I fix it.

Only if you have a free plan you do not have the possibility to create projects with shared configuration, independently of this, yes, when creating a project with shared configuration the schemes are the same and the modifications that you make would apply to all the projects that use those schemes, I understood that you wanted to test the configurations implemented in a project, that is why I suggested this solution in case it was possible, since if when testing, you have to make any modification, it would already be implemented in the original project.

On the other hand, you have this same option, associating to the test project the schemes used by the original project (as in the previous option, they would share schemes and any change would apply to all the projects that use that scheme).

Another option you have, if you do not want to share schemes, is to make a copy of each one (and workflows, screens, etc.) and associate them to the test project, this way, everything would be independent.

And finally, excuse me, I believe that currently ScriptRunner does not have the functionality to copy project (issues included) in Jira cloud 😭 (it does in Server/DC).

Paloma, You offer two solutions herein.

1. Would the first solution copy the schemes and keep them seperated or would that link both projects to the same scheme and if I edit something in one of the project it would reflect in the other one?

2. Where can I see the Scriptrunner code you mention here above?

I do have scriptrunner installed and I am on the standard account.
