JQL filter in JIRA to get all issues linked to an EPIC by filtering on one of the epic's field

Hi Atlassian Community ,

I have a field in my Epic which is named "Type of event" (2 level list)

(example : A;B; C-1;C-2)

I want to get all the issues that are linked to the Epic with the field Type of Event filed in with the value B.

How could I do that, please ? (Without using an add-on)

I am pretty darn sure that you cannot do this with out-of-the-box Jira. An app is needed.

Hi @Anna ,

With standard JQL, you can only get a list of issues and export them to Excel for further processing. This works if you want to do a one-off analysis. If your use case is more dynamic than that, look beyond standard Jira.

Standard JQL doesn't easily allow it, but you can quickly find the results using our professional indexing service JQL Search Extensions

After you install the app, you can simply search:

issue in childrenOfEpicsInQuery("'Type of event'='B'")
