There are nearly 300 Jira tickets logged and we want to list down all distinct labels as it representing categories of issues.
Hi @[deleted], welcome to the community!
if I understand your request you want to determine all labels associated with your issues. Assuming that is correct I would suggest creating a JQL filter to capture your issues, include the Labels field and export to Excel or Sheets. This will allow you to use the spreadsheet functions to analyze the labels, e.g. a pivot table.
Hi @[deleted] ,
As an alternative you can try label rest api.

Hi @Mehmet A _Bloompeak_
Thanks for that link! Doesn't that method return all labels for the instance, not just for a specific project?
Kind regards,Bill
Hi @Bill Sheboy ,
Yes you are right, it returns all labels. I missed single project requirement.
Hi Teoh,
You list all labels in a project by using the Labels Gadget in a Jira dashboard:
which you can configure to only show labels in a given project:
We also recently released a third-party app - Label Organizer for Jira Cloud - which provides the ability to view and organize (merge, rename, bulk-delete and bulk-assign) labels in a Jira project:
It's totally free for organisations with less than 10 users, and we've tried to price it very economically for organisations with more users. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.
