Can someone please help me with a JQL that gives me the stories that were moved from one sprint to another sprint ?
Hi @bela shaji,
Welcome to community!
There is no straightforward to find issues which was in 2 sprints
but if you want to find an issue that was in closed sprint and also in current sprint then below query will help you out
project = KEY AND sprint in closedSprints() AND Sprint in openSprints()
hope this helps

Leo
Hi @bela shaji and welcome to the community!
You can achieve that in two ways:
Creating an automation involves the creation of a custom text field and its placement on the appropriate screen (I would suggest only on the View issue opeartion). So let's call this field Previous Sprint.
Now you are ready to create a filter with a JQL statement that "Previous Sprint" is not EMPTY. That will give you this list.
However, I would go an extra step further and create another rule to clear this field, when a sprint is completed. E.g. you complete a sprint, and for all the issues of that sprint clear the previous sprint value.
Hi @bela shaji
You can try other solutions.
project = MYPROJECT AND NOT status = Done AND Sprint = NN
But as not all of the incomplete issues might go to the next sprint, these two options above will not do the work for 100%.
Hope you will find this info helpful.
Hi @bela shaji ,
With standard JQL, you can only get a list of issues that belong to closed, open, or future sprints - regardless of the board they belong to.
You can also export the issues to Excel for further processing. This works if you want to do a one-off analysis.
Standard JQL doesn't easily allow it, but you can find the results quickly using our professional indexing service JQL Search Extensions
After you install the app, you can simply search:
issue in previousSprint("ACME board")issue in addedToSprintAfterStart("ACME board")
Check out the documentation to see more examples.
I hope this helps!Daniel
Hi team,
if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would now be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called smart columns that aren’t natively available, including the number of sprints, the latest sprint, and many others.
With these, you can build a view like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:
As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter by the number of sprints. You can also use it across JXL's advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
