"You've stumbled on restricted content" but I'm full admin

andrewsteedami

On some pages I get the message pasted below - but I am full admin, have all permissions available on the space, and have edit permissions on the page itself. How is it that I still cannot view the content?

"You've stumbled on restricted content

Only some people can view this. If you think you should be one of them, request access from the author."

@andrewsteedami Page restrictions are different than permissions.

Here is an article that should help clear up your confusion (this is for Server)

Hope that helps!

Being a Confluence admin does not equal that you have full access to spaces/pages. Being admin means that you have access to the admin part of Confluence, but a space admin can restrict who have access to the space, including removing Confluence admins from having access.

andrewsteedami

And yet, as noted, I do have full access to the space and the page. Can the user still block my access even when I have all permissions granted?

Mikael Sandberg

Yes, it all depends if the page is using page restrictions that prevents you from viewing it.

There are page restrictions, but I have edit permissions in that section.

Hi Abe,

Thanks for the link! That did clear something up for me.

What's odd is that Confluence says the restrictions are at the parent page level (inherited by the troublesome child), but I have edit on that parent.

Mikael Sandberg

Edit restrictions are not inherited down to child pages, but view restrictions are, so when you do the inspect restrictions make sure you select view to see if any parent pages have that restriction.
