Bug in sprint dates

hello,

There is a bug in sprint date, the datepicker format the date like this `13/Sep/21 10:22 AM` but there is a validation error `'13/Sep/21 10:22 AM' nest pas une date valide. Veuillez saisir la date au format suivant : {1}`, so I cannot start the sprint.

Given the validation error, I don't have the format to use. I tried `2021-09-13` and others but nothing is working.

I don't have a paid plan, so I cannot report a bug, so they may never know about this blocking issue.

Anyone has a solution for this?

Having JIRA in French, I've struggled with this too (and I'm pretty sure this bug occurs for any other language than English).

I've found how to get the correct error message, so we can read the expected date format, and also how to change the expected format (because the default one is really unpractical for me).

Getting the correct error message

This one is not mandatory, but if you're curious: to get an error message with the expected date format instead of "{1}", simply change your personal language settings to "English (US)".

Though it wouldn't help in this case since this is a problem with the browser's vs. server's locales ("Feb" vs. "fév."...). I would advise changing the expected date format for numbered months instead...

Changing the expected date format

To define a more user-friendly date format, go to "System Settings > Advanced" and edit these 4 properties:

jira.date.picker.java.format
jira.date.picker.javascript.format
jira.date.time.picker.java.format
jira.date.time.picker.javascript.format

The Java and JavaScript tags differ, but they must render the exact same format to avoid getting an error.

I've encountered it several times lately. For some reason, depending on how we modify the start date with the calendar popup, the month format is changed and the error appears.

Indeed, when we compare the start date and the end date, we can see this little difference in the month formatting.

I haven't checked if an issue has already been created.

clarification: I struggled for the month of December:
'3 / dec. / 21 9:00 AM' is not a valid date. Please enter the date in the following format: {1}
It's because of my location: France
the correction is:
'3 / Déc / 21 9:00 AM' with emphasis on the name of the month
