Pull data from JIRA by REST API

Hi community,

I´m investigating how to setup a proper solution to pull data from JIRA for BI.

We have created a filter for gathers all needed jira cases.
The REST API should make it possible to call/request JIRA and pull data.

Any specifications and experiences about how and what to do would be much appreciated.

There is an option in excel to extract the data from external source where you can gave Jira API URL to import data which can be refreshable
