How do I edit the the font styling in Confluence?

Hi all,

I'm trying out Confluence for the creation of a company wiki, but the default headers, fonts, etc. look ... dated.

I've read a font styling page that shows it is possible, but that only system administrators can edit this by default. The page then gives directions on how to enable full access for other groups. However, when I try these steps, the CSS box is greyed out.

What do I need to do in order to get access to this?

Custom CSS and system admin access are restricted functions on Cloud - I'm afraid you won't get system level access and you can't apply CSS changes.

Hi Nic,

Thank you for the quick answer, even if it's not the one I was hoping for! ... I suppose I can look into the Server-based version and see if that gives me the flexibility I need. It's disappointing because Confluence looks like a great choice for everything we need. The only thing working against it is it looks like Confluence!

No problem. The page you've found is indeed aimed at Confluence Server, it's Cloud restrictions that are stopping you! You'll find more flexibility in Server, even to the point where it's really needed, you can change code.

While you can't do auto text style customization, you can use the DIv and Span macros to do manual text styling.

Each has a Styles field that takes CSS code:

font-family: Times; font-size: 28px;

It's a bit ugly in the edit mode, but works great in view mode.
