In the comments of stories, we use the @ mentions for a particular user. However, that user (nor anyone else) gets notified of this mentions. How is this set up?

Do the mentioned users receive any other type of email notification from Jira?
In their personal settings, have the users disabled all email notifications or unchecked the "Someone mentions you" option?
