Unable to get story point field to show up on bugs

We have tried to get the story point field to show up on bugs through multiple different avenues with no success. We have gone through issue layouts, fields, screens, and configuration directly on an individual bug. Any other things to try or reasons why it wouldn't show up?

By default, when creating a project which has a BUG issue type, Jira creates a separate screen for that issue type. E.g.

So what I would do:

• Click on the "Screen" on the BUG Row (in my example that would be HWA: Kanban Bug Screen)
• On the tab that would open, I would again click on the available screen
• I would then add the story point field
• Then I would go to issue layout on project setting, and adjust the location of story points

Keep in mind that you can have up to three screen depending on the action you perform (create, edit, view). In that case, you may have to add story point field to all these screens.
