Is there a way to edit project settings through the REST API?

I am trying to automate my product creation process. In order to do that I need to enable releases on a project I created using the API, something that in the UI is found in Project Settings->Features. I can't find any information in the documentation that suggests this is possible. Is there a way to do this?

Searching for the API endpoint to enable/disable features, I found one but it doesn’t work for team-managed projects.
