How to create custom field in Jira and pass values via API

We are in the process of integrating with Streamtime. 

 

We would like to create new custom field in all our Jira projects. Each tasks will have this custom field. 

 

We will pass ID from Streamtime to this custom field via API. 

 

First problem is how to create a custom field for all the Jira projects tasks?

For company-managed (classic) projects, go to Admin -> custom fields -> add custom field.  Set up what you need, tell it is is a "global" field (not limited to project or issue type), and put it on all the screens you need it on when asked.
