XRay - Import Test Execution Results Manually

Question

Hello XRay Team,

We're importing Test Executions results MANUALLY from another system.

Can you please guide us in the right direction? on how to do the same. I have referred to all the documentation but there is nothing that tells how to import  Actual results, defects and attachments. May be the JSON format to import the actual results, defects and attachments would help us here..

All the documentation says how to import comments and status ( and few other fields)

Thanks for your reply. The other system is not Xray. It is an Internal tool they have developed for for their purpose. They are not using REST API and neither they are exposed to.

The test executions on the other side are MANUAL.

The challenge is to export test executions from the other system in JSON format and we have somehow overcome the challenge by using the excel.

But while importing into Xray, defects are not getting imported. Any idea what should be the structure for defect in JSON format? I mean syntax?

does Xray support importing defects? along with test executions or is there a way defects can be imported manually and can be attached to the test runs?

What kind of Test Executions do you have in the other system?

Are these Xray's Test Executions? Or Test executions from another Test Management tool?

Is this other system a Test automation framework?

It will depend on the kind of system the other system is. Since Xray has integration with some systems, it might have an integration tool for it. If it does not, it could be possible to use the Test Case Importer or the REST API.
