How do I create a team home page in Jira?

I think I understand Jira is powered by Confluence and I see with Confluence, I can create a home page for my team but how do I get that home page in Jira? I want to be able to have a home page for my team where people can go to learn about the team, submit requests to the team, etc., but I don't know how to make that happen. Does this require coding and is it different than using the Confluence templates?

Jira and Confluence are separate applications but they are highly integrated.  You would setup the team page in Confluence and link to it from Jira.
