How to share a project with an external company?

Hello.

I was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on the problem I am currently facing within Jira. I have created a Jira project and I am wanting to use this project as a sort of template to share with other businesses, that being the custom fields I have created, the dashboard, the workflows, etc.

I was wondering if anyone could let me know whether this is possible or not. And if so, provide some guidance on how I would achieve this.

Thank you in advance.

It sounds like what you’re asking for here is a means of creating a project and allowing a group of people external to your company being able to access only that project. Assuming that’s the case then what you would want to do is add the external users as just like any other user, however, ensure that they only go into a specific group, e.g. company-acme. Make sure that if they end up going into a default group like Jira-users or similar, that you remove them from those groups. Then for the specific project that you’re defining for that simply give them the necessary permissions using this new group that you created.

you also mentioned creating this project as a template. You certainly can do that and then when you create a new project for a new company then just use that project as a template when creating the new project. Again you just have to make sure that you go in and adjust the permissions to align with the specific group that you created for that company.
