Creating a custom field that gets it input from google sheets column

Hi there,

I would like to create a a custom field that helps me to choose a customer from a drop down list. The information should be read from a google sheet column. Does Jira support this feature?

Workflow:

I create a ticket, click on the the drop down field customer and select/search for an existing customer that is listed in a google sheet. If that customer does not exist I enter the name of a customer and it is added to the google sheet.

I probably can add customer that do not exist with this addon at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1220382/jira-cloud-for-google-sheets-official?hosting=cloud&tab=overview ?

Ideally this would be refreshed every time I click on custom field.

Is there a way to display the google sheet column in the custom field?

Hi @mps , this functionality would only be possible with an add-on. Here's one that I have looked into in the past, where you can set up a list of custom field options to be pulled from an external data source - External Data for Jira Fields.

You can connect to this data source via several methods, including URL/REST, which I think would work for Google Sheets. Hope this helps!
