I cannot see the Assignee Name on the scrum board because the icon is broken

Question

Hi, Some of the images on the Jira board are broken links so it is difficult to tell who on the team is working on each story and task. The icons change during the day; sometimes they are available and sometimes the links are broken. This is happening for a few other team members as well but not everyone. It seems like it depends which Jira server the team member is logged in to. The issue has persisted for roughly 2 weeks. Please see attached example. Thank you!

I had the same problem (in Chrome) but was able to fix it by clearing cached images and files.  After clearing the cached images and files, I reloaded the site and the avatars were displaying correctly.

Here are the steps (edited from Google support pages):

* At the top right, click More (three dots in upper right).
* Click More tools > Clear browsing data.
* At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
* Next to "Cached images and files," check the box
* Click Clear data.

Reload Jira tab.

Same issue here Angelica. (using Microsoft Edge)

Assignee icons are broken.

Workaround -->>

* Select Profile from top right corner, and select "Profile" from drop down
* On next page, hover over large profile icon, click the small camera icon, and select "Edit initials" from the drop down
* Re-enter your initials, and click "Update" (could probably also upload an image of yourself if you really want as well)
* Done. Now the assignee icon shows your initials on the Jira Board correctly, and not the broken icon anymore

Hope that helps

Hello Jamie,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Searching for similar issues and also bugs, I didn’t find anything related to the issue you are facing.

What browser are you and the other affected users using?

When this issue happens, would you mind open the same board using another browser to check if the avatars will load?

sometimes they are available and sometimes the links are broken

When the issue happens, is it affecting all cards, or some of the avatars still load?

Kind regards,
Angélica
