How to fetch user passwords using jira python?

Question

Hi , I want to validate a user in in between a transition.

For that I have created 2 custom fields : User name and Password.
I will get these fields in a webhook that's backend is written in python.
Now I want to validate that the user name provided exists or not and If it exists then If password matches with that account. Can someone please help how can I retrieve all user passwords in jira (Or if it is not possible?).

HI Chris, Thanks for the answer and I agree.. But I just want to validate the password. So If I can get them in hashed form, I can compare that with the hashed form of the password entered by user.

You don't do this.  You should not have any form of access to passwords for your team, even if you're IT.   This is a security nightmare just waiting to happen.
