Deleting all issues at once?

Hi everyone,

How do you DELETE ALL from this view (Issues)? See attached screenshot.

All but one are JIRA's own "sample data". We want to remove all of them in one keystroke.

And, can someone help me understand how and why things are nested?

- There is a S/W project

- A Board.

- An Epic.

We just want to organize by Epic possibly with a board.

But would like to learn the best way to use them, or if they are all necessary.

Hi Tanya,

You can do that with the Bulk change function.

Click on the 3 dots menu in the upper right next to the Export button.

Then choose Bulk change and follow the steps.

For the next question, issues are stored in the database and connected to a project.

Issues can be viewed and interacted with on a board or a list. But there is nothing magical about the board - it just helps you to see the issues.

You can think of an Epic as more of a traditional project level grouping of issues. It's a handy way to link a bunch of individual issues that have something in common under a single umbrella.

Thank you. I don't see what you refer to as "Bulk change" in the menu items.

Re: Epic vs Board v Project.

We really are just interested in our Epics. We all just want to organize our work by Epics. This has been hard for me, especially, to easily just create/navigate/use as Epics are the things of which I'm most familiar. But just creating them, to organize our work, has been tough, as the S/W project and Board classifications seem to be mandatory when making an Epic. And those extra layers then complicate views and work flows.

You might not have permission to do Bulk changes. Are you a Jira Administrator?

Also, try clicking on Switch to Advanced first to see if you get the 3 dots menu.
