Is it possible to have an epic swim line on the Jira board with tasks ordered via prio?

Vatlav Mihailevski

Hello guys,

Could you please help if it is possible of course

I would like to use epics as a swimlane on the Jira board but I can't find a possibility to organize tasks view under the epic. Is it possible for example to change task order, to have the highest prio at the top and lowest on the bottom?

Thank you in advance for helping me

You can do this. You would need to modify the filter used by the board so that it says "order by Priority desc".

Usually the filter has the issues ordered by Rank. This is a prioritization of issues with respect to each other, not based on any value in the issues like Priority.

You could change the order clause of the filter to use Priority, but you would not be able to drag-and-drop issues to change their ranking.

You cannot have Rank enabled for the board and also have any other Order criteria set.
