Jira Smart values not passing into the e-mail

Hi!

I have created an automation to create an e-mail that passes in a table with smart values. It was working previously and all of a sudden it stopped passing in the smart value and just passes in "{{SmartValue}}". I added a log function within the automation to make sure that it was properly creating and updating the variable and it worked. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi Bill! Thank you for responding. It looks like when I pasted it outside of the program then copied it back in that it didn't recognize the smart values as smart values but rather as strings and added hidden characters. I deleted them and retyped and that worked.

Dana, I am glad to hear you figured it out. :^)

When I work on rule logic outside of Jira (like saving templates), I use a plain text editor to avoid those issues. Otherwise some editors may try to interpret the markup (e.g. HTML) when copy/pasting.
