What does mean “Releases” on the JIRA project, it is the released SW ?

Hello ,

In fact we have the list of issues , when reklease some issues we get a Document or a piece of code, SW, or package , so what we mean by Releases , SW or status of the project in time, and what is this status value  ?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Releases represent points in time for your project. They can be used to schedule how features are rolled out to your customers, or as a way to organize work that has been completed for the project. In Jira Software, each release is called a version.

Hi @Brahim Ferhat ,

JIRA release is aligned with Agile's PSPI (Potential Shippable Product Increment) concept. It means we identified a bunch of product features which will add some business value to the existing/new product.

The JIRA release may include any or all off Epics, User Stories, Tasks, Sub-Tasks, Bug tickets which started from your backlog till execution bugs.

At the end, you will get working business feature software update, which should be ready to be deployed in production. Although Agile means least documentation, you might also received documents describing information as per your organization policies.
