Sprints from another project appearing in unrelated project

Question

We have a strange bug, this has happened twice to me. Sprints under a different project key are showing in my project. These have no issues related to the erroneous project key. However no-one in the team created this Sprint. Kindly reach out to help us support this. Deleting the erroneous sprint deletes the actual sprint.

To clarify

e.g.
Project XXX
Has active Sprint 'XXX Sprint 33' (which is fine)

&&

Project YYY
Has active sprint 'YYY - Sprint 5'
Some how the above sprint has appeared in the backlog for XXX as well as YYY. The This is erroneous. It contains none of the issues in the genuine sprint YYY, where it belongs.

I believe deleting the erroneous sprint in XXX also deletes it in the YYY backlog.

Which won't be good for that team.

This is a P1 issue.

So, if you have covered the basics then...?

1. You have confirmed that sprint "YYY Sprint 5" was not created in the board associated with project XXX?

2. Sprint "YYY Sprint 5" doesn't include any issues that fall within the criteria for the board associated with project XXX?

Those are the only two reasons that I know of for a sprint to appear in a board.

Have you confirmed that you do not have two different sprints that have the same name - "YYY Sprint 5"?

If you really have just one sprint appearing in two boards, then yes, deleting it will remove it from all boards.

Hi Kagithala, I'd modified the project key & the side effects were the same.

There was no observable change in the backlog the incorrect sprint was still visible.

The team have confirmed no-one has created this manually.  We're still investigating, thoughts?
