Why is my page update triggering an email to people not linked to the page?

I checked a checkmark box on a confluence page I had and this action triggered an email to someone who is within my org, but was never shared the page and is not watching the page. Why is this happening? How can i change my user preferences so that none of my changes trigger emails?

I see. Thanks, how do I find out who my Admin is?

If you are a space admin, then  you can view watchers. Otherwise, talk to your admin.

there are no watchers on the page, is there any way i can check for this function?
