How can I configure or set a default filter for a specific board?

Hi,

I would like to create one project with 3 different boards. Each board will represent a team.

When I create an epic in the project, I will create stories for each board under that epic (each team will have their own stories). However, I don't want board A to see the stories of board B. But board C will see all the stories of that epic.

Is it a configuration of the board? or a default filter that will filter as you enter the board only the board's stories, tasks and bugs.

*Currently, board A sees all the stories of board B (when both boards are in the same project).

To solve this, you will have to change slightly the filter for each board (settings and edit filter query).

To achieve that, you need to know what can make you distinguish stories A from stories B. It can be a specific field (for example, all stories having component A go to board A). And you add it to each filter.

For example, filter for board A will be :

Project = XXX and component = A

Then, board A will only display stories A.

On what do you base the difference between stories A and stories B ?

if you using "next gen project", board configuration for different teams is not possible.

if you use "classic project"

you have 2 ways

1, create a component for each team, example "x component"

go to board configuration --> board settings --> general --> edit filter query

update jql as " project = "project name" and component = "x component"

2. use labels field for different teams while creating epics & stories.

project = "project name" and labels= "label name"

The different between both stories is that story A is the development team and story B is the design team. Each one in different board.

When I filter, can the users in board A will see the filter automatically? or do they need to filter each time they enter the board?

I would like them to see the filter by default..

When I asked you how you base the difference between stories, I meant it from a Jira point of view. Jira needs a field in queries for the filter to give you tickets from team a and tickets from team B. Is there a field where you can find the information about the team in charge for example ?

If that is not the case, you can simply use Components. For your project, you create one component named Team A and another named Team B. Then, you tag your stories with Team A or Team B, depending of the team in charge.

Then, on you A board you go to settings, edit filter query and change the query as follow :

Project = keyofproject and component = Team A

You do the same with team B on your B board.

If you saved it correctly, every time someone will go to Board A, only Team A stories will be available. The same for board B, no need to do it every time.

Hi, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I would like to custom a filter that will be called "team" and a custom dropdown with the list of the teams.

When I will filter, I will filter the issues by the team.

Where can I custom such filter for the my issues?
