Automation Multi-user picker emailAddress field is not showing

Im using next gen project

 

According to

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/use-smart-values-to-access-listed-values/

{{#issue.<span>customfield_11164</span>}}{{displayName}} ({{emailAddress}}) {{/}}

should work and log displayName and emailAddress, but only displayName shows up for me.

<span>customfield_11164 is a multi user select field that is restricted to a single person</span>

 

<span>When I hit&nbsp;</span>/rest/api/2/issue/CS-486?expand=names

emailAddress is there

This is a multi-user select field?

What is the wider context of this rule? Sometimes it can be easier to replicate the rule / setup to try and find the solution
