How to get issue description in HTML Format as it is shown in JIRA issue details via Rest API?

Question

We are using JIRA Rest API to read the Issue Details, and we are using issue description field, as now we can format the issue description with bold, colored text etc..so the same formatting we need to retain and show.

Can you pl. let us know how to achieve this as of now description gives plain text.

I'm using Jira On-prem Server.

the video/post shows how to convert HTML to Wiki as they are getting description in HTML tags whereas in my case only plain text is coming with any tags and formats.

how to solve this?

This happens due the different formats used by Jira and DevOps. I am not sure if you are using Jira Cloud or Server, but do have a look at this community post on the subject (please review the video contained in it too). This might also be of help to you.
