Hi!
Please try Handy Macros. It provides the sets of statuses (with more colors) that can be changed in the page view mode, as well as dates and polls.

As a workaround, you can use the Handy Macros app that includes the Handy Status macro. You can add predefined status sets and switch statuses from these sets in the page view mode. There are a lot of color options for text and background available in this macro:
