Is there a way to sync Confluence with a github repo?

Question

I'm looking to write documentation in confluence and upload the pages to a github repo.

Understandably, this is a weird question, but my boss wants all documentation in a repository that we can all have on our PCs in case something critical happens and we lose access to 3rd party documentation services. Whether or not this is reasonable, it is a constraint I have and I much prefer to document in confluence over hundreds of txt files

Gitbook has a feature to synchronize Github repo to Gitbook or vice versa. Gitbook can display markdown file but not many other formats.

This does sounds like quite a limiting constraint. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any native or Third-party plugin in our marketplace that would allow for this to happen.

I believe, however, that Zapier would be capable of achieving this:
