Jira doesn't have any code in it to read .msg files. You could look for an app that can do it, or code one yourself, but plain Jira just doesn't have a way to read them.

We actually faced this same issue and we have a solution for it. It automatically detects .msg and .eml attachments in Jira and renders them properly as full email content directly in the preview, rather than showing a broken/unsupported file view.
