How to rename the existing label name?

There are few options to do this.
1. Update the label from DB. I believe that label table has to be updated. I do not prefer this DB change.
2. Second option is to create a new label. Filter issues that has the old label and bulk edit the issues. This should be the easier option.
3. JIRA does not allow to rename labels from UI.
As it is on the Atlassian Cloud, changes on the DB will not work here.
To change the labels on all issues, you can search for the labels and use the bulk-change to add the new label, and remove the old one.

Jira currently does not have an option to rename or edit a label, especially when the label is used in a large number of issues across projects.

It has complete label management features like displaying all labels in one page, searching and filtering, renaming as well as deleting old labels.
