How to trigger web-hook from Jira

Hi All,

 

I have configured the webhook in Jira and I have attached that into the workflow as well but still, it's not triggering properly,

Please guide me where I missed the configuration.

Please let me know if I want to give any authentication somewhere.?

Hi Ramesh,

I see that you are trying to have a webhook fire when an issue has completed the initial create transition.  Thanks for the screenshots as well, they do really help.  I see that you moved the transition to the last post-function position.  That's good too, I have seen ordering that event higher up can cause problems.

The only thing that jumps out at me is that your screenshots appear to indicate that the workflow is still in a draft state.  Make sure that you publish these changes, or else the workflow could still behave with previously saved settings.

If that does not help, then I would want to then make sure that the workflow in question here is actually corresponding to the project type and in turn the specific issue types being created in that project.  It is commonly seen that projects could have different workflows for each issue type within a project.

And if that doesn't help, then I would try to use a service such as requestbin.com in order to test this out, just in case you might not be getting a response at the address you have previously entered, this could be a useful test to see if perhaps the problem is not bound solely within Jira.

An alternative means to configure this would be to avoid using the workflow post functions entirely and instead if you're using Jira Cloud, use the built in automation action of send web request in order to try and send out such a webhook.

Try these steps and let me know what you find.
