How to use JQL filter to find test cases in a specific TestPlan (Jira Cloud)

Hello everyone,

I did recently migration of Jira Server to Jira Cloud, but I don't understand why some of my filter doesn't match between this 2 versions.

My example is to find test cases attached in a specific TestPlan, I used this JQL filter :

issue in testPlanTests("ABC-1109") but this one doesn't work in Jira Cloud, do you know why ?

For information, Jira is plug with XRay, and my first intuition is that I missed a configuration to correctly link XRay with Jira

Per Xray's documentation, the cloud product doesn't offer the same JQL functions as the server version. Unfortunately testPlanTests is one of the functions that work only in server.

Jira Cloud has some constraints due to its current architecture.

In fact, Xray Cloud and Xray server are different products, based on different technologies, even though the team tries to make them equivalent.

As Xray is dependent on Jira capabilities, it' a limitation that exists for the time being.

Currently, JQL is very limited in the cloud (compared to server). More info here.

Anyway, I advise you to reach out to Xray team and ask for improvements with the queries that have the most value to you, so the team can be aware of it when a solution comes.

thanks, this works for searching tests that belong to a "Test set". And what about I need to search the "tests" that belong to a "Test Execution", with a precise status?

example: in Jira serve this works -> Issue in TestExectionTests("Test execution-ID", "result-").

Do you have a suggestion for this kind of search?
