Statistics on number requests to Confluence and average data size being requested

Hello,

I am putting a proposal together to migrate on-prem Confluence to being hosted on the Cloud.

Since the number of requests and the data in-out, I want to know if there is a way to get the number of user requests and the data/packet size being requested, and then averaging them out!

Hi Jidoka,

Happy to hear you're considering a move from Confluence Server to Confluence Cloud. Many companies are finding the advantages of Cloud appealing, like the reduced administrator overhead and that there aren't ongoing upgrades to consider.

I'm not totally sure I understand what you're asking about when talking about data in-out. Would it be right to say that you're hoping to put a per-user number on the bandwidth requirements that Confluence Cloud would require?

If that's the case, I'm afraid it wouldn't really be possible to provide an estimate. A lot of factors such as the length of a user's browser cache time, the size of each page they're working on, how many pages they're working on, etc vary by user to user and site to site. It might be possible to use a network appliance on your own network to look at how much data is being transferred to atlassian.net and other domains that are relevant to our Cloud applications. But this is something you'd do after-the-fact once Confluence Cloud was already in use; I'm doubtful you could realistically estimate the traffic in advance.

If you meant something else, I'd like to understand a bit more about the what and why in order to try and help.
