Customize form when Create Issue is clicked

I have created a Custom Issue Type say Requirements.

For this issue type, Component field is not applicable and i don't want this to be displayed in the create issue.

I have tried to associate the custom issue type screens. But it is still not working.

I suppose i am missing a step as when we create a Bug it shows a different create screen.

Similar to Bug i should be able to present a customized screen to users when creating details for Requirements issue type

Before adding an Issue type screen scheme, you need to have a Screen Scheme, in which you can select a screen to be displayed for Create Issue operation.

1. Create a screen and add the desired fields that you want to be shown on create screen (Screen A)

2. Create a screen scheme (Screen Scheme A), and choose Screen A as Default Screen. You can then associate an issue operation (in your case: Create Issue) with Screen A. 

3. Go to Jira settings > Issues > Issue type screen schemes > select the "Issue Type Screen Scheme" which is used by your project and associate the issue type with Screen Scheme A.
