Until a few days ago, the pie chart gadgets looked like 'donut' charts with a nice font an a modern color pallete. Now they have changed to a non-donut pie chart with jarring primary colors and ugly fonts. What happened?

The ugly look is the old look JIRA provided in pre-7.x versions. It suggests that there is either a bug or Atlassian reverted to the old look for some reason.
My guess would be the former. Report a bug to them and wait.
+1!!!!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE. I use these for my client reports. Atlassian, what have you done?!?!??!?!
