How to add 'impact' to jira ticket

How do we add 'impact' to a jira ticket? 

In Confluence i've migrated in the jira ticket as a list, and would like to add that field 'impact' so we can easily see how many people a ticket is affecting.

Does Impact have a specific value? Is it like a custom field you want to create?

You could use one of the existing fields to visualise this - such as:

• Component - add a set of values for the project for users to choose from
• Priority - and define what each level means from a customer impact perspective

If these don't work for you - you can create a custom field. The instructions will depend on which type of project you have:

• Classic Project: You'll need to be a Jira Admin. See Issue Custom Fields page - on the right-hand menu is detail on creating a custom field and adding it to a screen. You could create a single choice select list (i.e a drop down) to house impact.
• Next-Gen Project: You'll need to be a Project Admin. See Customize an Issue's Fields in Next-Gen Projects - scroll down the page and locate the section titled "Create Custom Fields"

Note: If you using a Classic Project but also the new issue view, once you've added the new field, a Project Admin should go to Project Settings > Issue Layout and ensure the field is in the appropriate location on the screen. The new issue view utilises different issue layout settings to the classic view.
