Steps I'm taking * filters -> all filters * search for my filter * access the ellipses dots on the right side of the row representing that filter * choose "edit" * Change from private to another value (I've tried "Project" then specified my project, I've tried "Group") * Click the "Add" button which moves the permission to the bottom of the modal window. * Click the "Save" button which I would think would close the modal window but does not. * Exit the window by clicking somewhere else on the screen outside the modal window * The permissions still show as "Private" * Refresh the screen, go to a different browser --- the permissions still show as "Private"

Any ideas as to why I can't change filter permissions?

Hello @Kathy Watters , thanks for the detailed explanation. That's so odd. Since, you are a site admin can you goto "Shared Filters" and see if you find your filter there?

type gg --> enter "shared filter"

or

settings --> system --> shared filters

Thanks for your response! I went to settings --> system --> shared filters to search for my filter and it is not there.

I was trying to see if the filter access was changed but looks like it is still a private filter.

Here is another way to edit permissions of your filter :
goto all filters --> click on the filter and then click on details which gives you details of your filter --> Click on Edit Permissions --> add group or project --> save
