Enable Rich Text Editor in jira cloud

Question

Hi kind community,

We are trying to enable the rich-text editor in jira cloud (as we had when we used on-prem), so that users can edit and see the rich text while they add comment/description

We currently only see a "render" button that will show us how what we typed will look like, but it does not allow editing during "rich-text" view.

Rich text are only available using the new issue view on JIRA Cloud, you can watch and vote for this issue

I've introduced this to the user, and see his feedback.

Do you know if there a way I can get the previous behavior out of the traditional issue view UI?

I understand, I just asked because this is a known cause of the issue you described in JIRA.

I think I got your issue now, you might be probably be using the old view in JIRA Cloud and rich text is not available there see: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-20458
