Jira cloud API creates boards but can it add columns and create quick filters inside the boards?

Question

I am using Jira cloud API to create Kanban boards and want to add columns and create quick filters inside the boards using the API. Can be these achieved through the API? Atlassian docs are no help here. Thank you

Is there a place to vote the same feature for Jira Server?

At this moment we are hard-coding the columns names defined in board to associate the issue statuses in each bucket...
