Why does the drop-down for Sprint have options which do not exist?

We have one open/active Sprint in a fresh Jira project however when editing the Sprint field in an issue there are multiple options (e.g. Sprint 1, Sprint 2, Sprint 1, Sprint 2).  I've tried finding where these phantom Sprints exist and have had no luck.

Sounds like the Jira issue is appearing in multiple Boards. Those Sprint names are likely coming from the other Board(s.)
