I have 2 projects DXIC and PLAT - when i change the sprint name on one project/board it changes other, addition to that when i close the sprint on one project/board it closes on other project as well

Are both of those boards displaying issues from both projects?
As Edwin eludes to, one (Or both) of your boards is associated with both Projects. Inspect the board filters - Board settings > General > filter
