JIRA Automation - Set Active Sprint

I'm trying to setup a workflow using Jira automation that will take Service Desk issues and Auto-Create Software Project issues and assign them to the Active Sprint (for certain show stopper categories) .

I have worked out all of this process except for how to auto-set the sprint to the Active Sprint. Right now it creates the Software Issue and drops it at the bottom of our backlog.

 

I see options for setting sprints, but they all seem to be based on inheriting them from their parent, which doesn't work in this case.

Can this be solved with the "Addition Fields" text box, what would be the syntax for selecting active sprint?

Per your description, I understand you are trying to create an automation rule that would be triggered when a Service desk ticket is created and would create a new issue in the active Sprint of your software board. Is that correct?

About the following sentence:

Actually, you can select the current active Sprint in the project automation rule. This would be the rule to achieve the scenario you want:

The rule background:

• Triggered when an issue is created in the Service desk project (Test project)
• Then, create a new issue in the Software project (Scrum) with the current active Sprint in the board of the project
