Error connecting to Jira /secure/errors.jsp

Question

I am getting this when trying to browse to Jira...

When i do CA's fix from this post

It will work to go to the page but then after a minute or two it goes right back to the http://localhost:8080/secure/errors.jsp blank page.

Earl, first thanks for assisting. I dont think this was a permissions based issue. but I wanted to share a couple other things i noticed in case it happens to anybody else.

when creating the jiradbuser and then the schema, I did not go into that user and change their default schema to the new jira schema......I did not see this in the database setup steps, so may consider adding that.

The only other thing i noticed is the database only setup with 8MB of space, although dont think that was the issue because it is set to autogrow. I only noticed it because the confluence install started with 132 MB, so that's where i noticed the difference. I am now up and running. Thanks again for your assistance.

Hey @Justin Bleich ,

Thanks for the details, and Yo noted setting the permissions in the Base of the Hole directory but you will want to  set the permissions from the base directory for both "$JIRA_INSTALL/" and the "$JIRA_HOME/" directories  then manually flush caching as described previously.

Additional details on these directories and the full directory structure can be seen in "Important directories and files"

Next Follow this process:

* Stop Jira
* Recursively set the Permissions to Full control to both Jira Home and Jira install* Please refer to this Techotopia documentation for further information on setting permissions in Windows.

* Manually Flush Plugin Cache by* Removing the .bundled-plugins and .osgi-plugins manually in the <JIRA Home>/plugins directory (These are hidden by default)
* Delete the contents of the work directory * Noting to Only remove the contents, do not remove the directory itself, or the path will not rebuild correctly:

* Restart jira

If the application is still failing after this restart try restarting with apps Disabled as covered in "Start and Stop Jira applications"

Check the logging to see if the same error or new errors are occuring, and let me know what you find.

It is installed as a service.

The service itself is starting as "Network Service"

Network Service currently have full control of

$JIRA_HOME/
$JIRA_INSTALL/logs
$JIRA_INSTALL/temp
$JIRA_INSTALL/work
