How to get a rule to work when a new Issue is created on the Board?

Currently the rules seem to work only when issues are moved from one board to another. How do I make it i work when I create a new issue on a Board.

Eg: When I create a new Issue of type "Incident", I want the Response checkbox to be automatically ticked as "responded". That is not happening.

Hi Murali - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You should be able to accomplish this with Automation For Jira (not free!)

Create a rule for New Issue Created.

Then add a Condition for Issue Type = Incident

Then New Action - Edit Issue

And set the Response field = Responded.
