Renaming the 'Project Categories' to some another name

Jenin CM

Hi All,

Presently, when we go to admin page of Jira, under Projects we see 'Project Categories'. I need to change this 'Project Categories' to 'Accounts' so that we will create the projects under the accounts defined in it.

Could you please let me know as how to acheive this?

Thanks and Regards,

Jenin C M

Hi Jenin,

Since you are using the Ondemand version, this is not possible. For a list of restricted functions in ondemand, refer to

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Restricted+Functions+in+Atlassian+OnDemand

Thank you

Hey Jenin,

Take a look at

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Renaming+System+Fields+in+JIRA

Open the file mentioned in the documentation there and search for "Project Categories" and rename all occurances.

If you are new to Jira development, take a look at this book. It is a great resource.
