How do I add custom field to specific issue type?

Hi,

I created a new custom field and I want to add it as a field in Epic issue type. How it's being done?

in addition, I want to create a new issue type and configure list of fields related to this new issue type. how its being done?

is there any support call I can have in case I have a question and can't find in your documentation a simple answer?

Hi @Maya Arad

You can do this via the custom field's configuration. To do this:

Go to Jira Admin > Issues > Custom Fields
Select the filed you want to apply/limit scope
Actions(right side of the field) --> Edit configuration
Select apply context to selected issue types and then select issue type(s) you want to enable this field
Do the same as issue type to project(s) if you want

You would need to add this field to the ( create, view , edit screens) associate these screen to a screen scheme by creating one,

though when adding the customer field for issue type, it's not automatically added to the type of the issue. there is a need for additional steps per project per type to add the custom field. is that right?

in addition to the new issue type to project, I can't find the edit configuration. when I press edit the screen is very limited and I can't find the place where I'm adding a new type to projects.
