How to see time logged by status?

Question

While there are reports that show time duration in a given status, we have a need to compare the time/labor logged within that status.  For example: For an Issue that has been in "In Progress" for 4 weeks (or whatever time): how do we show the time logged while in that status?  It could be interesting for management to see if a person(s) assigned only logged 4 hours during a 4 week duration.

This is a very helpful suggestion; however, we are looking for a cloud solution that not only shows "Duration" in Status but also shows "Effort" (or Hours logged) while in the Status.  I may be missing something as I'm only seeing the ability to chart Time (Duration) in Status.
