Can't seem to point a template to a specific parent page

Crystal Ayco

I created a new tempate for my workspace and I want to have any pages created from that template to post under a certain page within the space. However, I can't seem to figure it out with the latest updates. I could of swore I could point these in the right place through labeling or location setting in the actual custom template. Help!

Hey @Crystal Ayco ! Thanks for reaching out.

There is a way for us to specify a page as the parent for template created pages. We can use the Create from template macro. The process is actually reversed, we designate a page as a child of another page.

When we place this macro within a specific page, all pages created using that button will be created as a child of the page where the macro is placed.

Here we can check the documentation for the macro:

• [Confluence Cloud] Create from Template Macro

Another thing that can yield similar results is the usage of the Content By Label Macro. This macro will display all pages, regardless of being created by templates or not, that contain a specific set of labels.

You can check more about the usage of this macro here:

• [Confluence Cloud] Content by label macro

I hope this sheds some light on your issue! Looking forward to your reply.
