Unable to see Unassigned tickets through the Users filter in a NextGen board.

We are unable to filter by Unassigned users in the NextGen board.  Does anyone know if this is normal functionality for NextGen?  Specifically, we are trying to filter by user in the Backlog and know there are tickets assigned to Unassigned.  The Unassigned tickets show in the backlog (without an icon).  Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

When using a next-gen project, currently the option to filter by assignee is not available.

On the board, we can use the option Group By assignee that will show the unassigned tickets on the bottom of the page (last row).

There is a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

• Add "unassinged" to filter on Jira Next Gen backlog view and board
